Ayushman Card 2025: Step-By-Step Guide To Download It Online

In a bid to make healthcare more accessible and affordable, the government has expanded the reach of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), one of the world’s largest publicly funded health insurance schemes. Through this program, eligible citizens can now avail themselves of cashless medical treatment up to Rs 5 lakh per year across empaneled public and private hospitals.
The initiative, aimed at providing comprehensive health protection, allows beneficiaries to register and download their Ayushman Bharat Card digitally. This eliminates the need for in-person visits to government offices or centers. Citizens can simply log on to the official National Health Authority (NHA) website and complete the registration process online.
About The Ayushman Bharat Card
The Ayushman Bharat Card serves as the health insurance ID under the PMJAY scheme. As of now, approximately 34.7 crore cards have been issued nationwide. The card offers cashless treatment and hospitalization benefits for a wide range of medical services, both pre and post-treatment, at authorized healthcare facilities.
Who Is Eligible?
To qualify, individuals must meet certain criteria:
- Senior citizens aged 70 and above
- Individuals falling under the Below Poverty Line (BPL)
- Indian citizenship is mandatory
- Beneficiaries of the Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana

- Entire families are covered under a single scheme without age restrictions.
- Pre- and post-hospitalisation expenses are included in the coverage.
- Each approved beneficiary receives coverage of up to Rs 5 lakh annually.
