Here are some brother-sister duos from the startup world

New Delhi [India], Aug 25 (ANI): The sibling rivalry is well known and has been experienced by many Indians. Brothers and sisters have often found many reasons to fight.

But when they unite, their strength combined can bring about varied changes in their field.

So as we celebrate Raksha Bandhan, let's take a look at successful startups that are run by a brother-sister duo:

Imarticus Learning

This Mumbai based startup founded by the brother-sister duo Sonya Hooja and Nikhil Barshikar, is a leading ed-tech company in the realm of financial and analytics-centric professional education. Launched in 2012, it is bridging the much dreaded skill gap between the industry and academia. Having trained more than 30,000 students globally, it has established itself in cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune and is targeting global markets like Dubai, Southeast Asia and Africa.

Kyazoonga

Led by the brother-sister duo Akash and Neetu Bhatia and based in Delhi and Pune, it is India's first and largest online ticketing company. Launched in early 2007, it is the only ticketing company in India to have qualified as a finalist for an Olympics ticketing bid. It is also the only ticketing company in the subcontinent to have ticketed a major international event - the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, all forms of international cricket (ODI, Tests, T20s), several domestic cricket leagues and matches and Olympic style multiple sporting events and venues.

Campus Sutra

Run by Khushboo Agarwal, Sonal Agarwal, Aditya Agarwal and Khushboo's husband Dhiraj Agarwal, it is a Bengaluru-based private-label apparel and accessories maker sells T-shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, active wear and bags to a student-centric customer base through e-commerce platforms Myntra, Jabong, Flipkart and Amazon, apart from its own website. Launched in 2013, it had touched Rs 100 crores in sales and plans to increase it to Rs. 160 Crores by 2018.

Homegrown

Started by Varun and Varsha Patra, Homegrown has quickly become one of India's fastest growing portals for fashion, art, culture and lifestyle. Their slick writing and quirky content has helped create a niche in the lifestyle news section in India.

Slideshare

Most internet users, especially students must have come across Slideshare. This platform for sharing and distributing presentations was started by siblings Rashmi Sinha and Amit Ranjan. Slideshare has come a long way as it was acquired by LinkedIn in 2012 and doesn't show any sign of slowing down. (ANI)
