Meanwhile on Wednesday, the price of petrol crossed ₹100 per litre in Rajasthan's Sriganganagar district for the first time. In view of the price rise, the Rajasthan Petroleum Dealers' Association (RPDA) will be organising a 'Sadbuddhi Yagya' as a protest against the state government for the highest value-added tax (VAT) on fuel price.

While branded or premium petrol had crossed the Rs 100-mark in states like Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, this is the first time that regular petrol crossed the Rs 100-mark.
