Fake Call Centre Targeting Foreigners Busted In Delhi; 54 Held & 89 Desktops Seized
As per the officials, accused used an elaborate written script and duped more than 4,000 people for around Rs 80-90 crores

The cyber cell of Delhi Police has arrested 54 people after a syndicate that targeted foreign nationals by posing as personnel of law was busted. The enforcement agencies have exposed the gang of cheating foreign nationals by running a fake call center from Moti Nagar area and imposing as officers of the investigating agencies.
Foreign citizens belonging to the US and other countries were threatened for being implicated in legal case and used to get money through bitcoins and gift cards.
With the arrest of 54 people, 89 desktops and servers have been recovered from fake call centers.The accused run the scam using proper scripts and made them pay through gift cards and bitcoins.
According to the cyber cell, around 4,000 people were victim of cheating in which the syndicate made Rs 80 to 90 crore. These people used to threaten foreign nationals saying their social security number is associated with criminal activity and their partners have got links to bank accounts because of this they will be arrested. At present, all of them have been arrested and further investigation is on.
Earlier in November, Delhi police have busted a fake call centre in Rajouri Garden area of city and arrested 17 persons for allegedly duping foreigners on the pretext of providing them technical support. The accused then used to send pop-ups to unsuspecting people that their devices have been hacked and infected with malware and then cheat them on the pretext of providing technical support by Microsoft.
