Corporate Groups Join Hands In Fight Against Coronavirus; Know More About Their Contributions

The pandemic has created an all hands-on deck situation. And corporates in India have answered the call and joined to fight the virus. Various corporate entities have stepped into the field and are contributing in different ways, from helping families of employees to creating a dedicated fund meant for COVID-19.

New Delhi: The Cornavirus outbreak has created an all hands-on deck situation with total positive cases in India surging past 5,000 mark on Wednesday with reports of as many as 149 deaths. In the wake of this medical pandemic, corporates in India have answered the call and joined the fight against Covid-19. Various corporate entities have stepped into the field and are contributing in different ways, from helping families of employees to creating a dedicated fund to provide life-saving equipment to help those affected due to the outbreak. Here's a list of some leading companies that have come forward for the noble cause to extend helping hands in fight against Coronavirus: Nippon Paint Nippon Paint (India) Private Limited (Decorative Division) manufacturer of paints are providing financial benefits to over 1,500 painters in India, through digital currency. The first phase investment is Rs. 7.5 lakh. The company has the painters with e-vouchers enabling them to purchase essential commodities from their neighbourhood supermarkets and grocery stores. According to Mr. S Mahesh Anand, President – Nippon Paint (India) Private Limited (Decorative Division),” Nippon Paint always strives to support painters, who are our key stakeholders. We hope that our contribution will help sustain their families during the current lockdown and hopefully endure this crisis together.” Hindustan Zinc This Rajasthan based zinc, lead, and silver producer has tied up with district authorities and other agencies in Udaipur, Bhilwara, Rajsamand, Ajmer, and Chittorgarh for health and hygiene initiatives. The company is helping in spraying and fogging with Sodium Hypochlorite solution along with providing masks and sanitizers. They are also supporting the community by giving dry ration. Dabur Group The corporate known for its various FMCG products has set up a ‘Dabur Care Fund for COVID-19’ for fighting the virus and helping the needy. The company stated that it will support the efforts to fight coronavirus by contributing to the government’s relief fund and helping frontline workers and the underprivileged. Lal PathLabs Limited Lal PathLabs Limited, a leading diagnostic and related healthcare service provider announced a donation of Rs. 1 crore to Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situation (PM CARES) to help the government in its fight against Coronavirus. A slew of other Corporates in India has also contributed by giving a donation to combat Covid-19. Wipro Enterprises Ltd and Azim Premji Foundation contributed 1,125 crores to help in tackling Covid-19. The Aditya Birla Group has also committed Rs 500 crore and so has digital payments firm Paytm. Apart from these, several multi-million conglomerates of the country such as Tata Sons, Reliance Industries Limited, Wipro and others have also pledged significantly towards the cause. Tata Sons and Tata Trusts have pledged to contribute Rs 1,500 crore for the cause while Reliance Industries contributed Rs 500 crore towards PM CARES and another Rs 5 crore each towards Maharashtra CM and Gujarat CM's funds. Adani Foundation has contributed Rs 100 crore to the PM CARES Fund for the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. Anand Mahindra of the Mahindra & Mahindra Group had offered to provide Mahindra resorts as care facilities for those infected.
