Commercial LPG Cylinders Become Costlier, Check City-Wise Exact LPG Rates

The new prices come into effect immediately, from March 1, 2025. Now, the revised price of a 19-kg LPG cylinder stands at Rs 1,803 in New Delhi.

This surge in the commercial cooking gas prices still remains modest as the price of the 19 kg LPG cylinder stood at Rs 1,818.50 in December 2024.

Commercial LPG cylinders became more expensive after the government announced a hike in the prices of 19 kg cooking gas cylinders on Saturday. The oil marketing companies (OMC) announced that the commercial 19 kg cylinders will now cost higher by Rs 6 per cylinder. 

The new prices come into effect immediately, from March 1, 2025. Now, the revised price of a 19-kg LPG cylinder stands at Rs 1,803 in New Delhi. Similarly, price of these cylinders will also be increased across the country in major cities such as Kolkata, Mumbai, and Chennai. 

This surge in the commercial cooking gas prices still remains modest as the price of the 19 kg LPG cylinder stood at Rs 1,818.50 in December 2024. Now, the commercial cooking gas cylinder costs Rs 1,913 in Kolkata, Rs 1,965.50 in Chennai, and Rs 1,755.50 in Mumbai. 

Cost Of Domestic LPG Cylinders Remains Unchanged

However, the price of 14.2 kg LPG cylinders, used for domestic purposes by households, has remained unchanged since August 2024. As such, the domestic cooking gas cylinder costs Rs 803 in Delhi, Rs 802.50 in Mumbai, Rs 829 in Kolkata, and Rs 818.50 in Chennai.

LPG prices are based on several factors such as oil prices globally, supply and demand environment, tax policies, and foreign exchange rates. Typically, the price of LPG cylinders are revised at the beginning of every month by the OMCs. This reflects the dynamic nature of the market.

Benefits Of Earlier Price Cut Reversed

This hike reverses the benefits recieved by the public in the last price reduction. Ahead of the Budget, the OMCs cut down the price of commercial cooking gas cylinders in February by Rs 7 per cylinder. As such, the price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders cost Rs 1,797 in Delhi.
