FM To Present Economic Survey Today, Here's How You Can Watch It Live
As the name suggests, the Economic Survey provides a detailed insight into the condition of the national economy regarding the fiscal year that has concluded recently or is going to be completed soon
Economic Survey 2024: PM Narendra Modi-led government is all set to table its first full Union Budget for the 2024-25 fiscal year on July 23, 2024. This will be the first full-term Budget for the PM’s third term in office. This will also mark the seventh consecutive Budget to be presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
Before the presentation, the Budget Session will begin on July 22, 2024 and the Finance Minister will table the Economic Survey 2023-24 in front of the Parliament.
Typically, the Survey is presented a day ahead of the Budget. However, earlier the document was tabled along with the Union Budget from 1950-51 to 1964. Ever since, the Survey has been separated from the Budget and presented before the day.
What Is The Economic Survey?
As the name suggests, the Economic Survey provides a detailed insight into the condition of the national economy regarding the fiscal year that has concluded recently or is going to be completed soon.
The survey is conducted by the Economic Division of the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA) in the Finance Ministry.
After the financial document is presented in the Parliament, Dr V Anantha Nageswaran, Chief Economic Advisor to the Government of India, will hold a press conference on the Economic Survey in the afternoon.

Why Is The Survey Important?
The survey helps understand the economic developments in the economy in the reviewing period and also reviews the focus points for the upcoming year. It not only evaluates the performance in sectors but also highlights the areas that need special attention in the forthcoming Budget.
