Adani Group Partners With PGTI To Launch The Invitational Golf Championship

The inaugural tournament, with a prize pool of Rs 1.5 crore, will take place at the Jaypee Greens Golf & Spa Resort in Greater Noida from April 1-4, 2025

The Adani Group is making its debut in Indian professional golf with the launch of the ‘Adani Invitational Golf Championship 2025’. This event, in collaboration with the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), the official governing body for men’s professional golf in India, aims to increase the accessibility of golf and elevate its recognition as a mainstream sport. 

Additionally, the tournament seeks to nurture India’s next generation of global golf champions, as per the company’s official statement.

The inaugural tournament, with a prize pool of Rs 1.5 crore, will take place at the Jaypee Greens Golf & Spa Resort in Greater Noida from April 1-4, 2025. This event also marks PGTI's return to the venue after an 11-year gap, it added.

Our goal is to cultivate Indian global champions in golf. Professional Golf In India

Kapil Dev, President of the PGTI, expressed his gratitude to the Adani Group for its support of professional golf in India through the launch of the championship. He stated, "The backing of the Adani Group, one of the world’s biggest business houses, will help the PGTI produce more champion golfers from India who will make the country proud on the international stage. I expect to see golf fans in big numbers following their favorite players on the course during the tournament."

Describing the championship as a pivotal moment for the PGTI, Amandeep Johl, CEO of PGTI, remarked, "This association will raise the stature of the Tour. We thank the Adani Group, our title sponsors, for sharing PGTI’s vision of creating more playing opportunities for Indian professionals. With an attractive prize purse, outstanding playing conditions at the Jaypee Greens Golf & Spa Resort, and a top-notch field vying for the title, one can expect a spectacular week of golfing action at the eagerly awaited Adani Invitational Golf Championship 2025.”

Pre-Tournament Event

A pre-tournament event for the ‘Adani Invitational Golf Championship 2025’ will take place on March 29, 2025, at The Belvedere Golf & Country Club in Ahmedabad. During this event, five top PGTI professionals will host a golf clinic aimed at introducing the sport to 50 children from The Adani International School, the firm said.

Cricket legend Kapil Dev, who now serves as the President of PGTI, will attend the event to highlight the shared vision of the Adani Group and PGTI in fostering golfing talent and advancing the sport in India. The partnership also includes the creation of a joint Adani-PGTI golf training academy at the Belvedere Golf & Country Club in Ahmedabad.
