Adani Green Receives ‘Platinum Award’ For Positive Impact On Environment

The award recongised Adani Green's outstanding contributions, commitments, and actions that have a positive impact on the environment.

The renewable arm of the Adani Group, Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL), has received the ‘Platinum Award’ by Grow Care India Environment Management Awards 2022 for outstanding achievement in the environment management category. The award recongised the company's outstanding contributions, commitments, and actions that have a positive impact on the environment, Adani Green said in a statement. 

The award was conferred by the Minister of State Rural Development Faggan Singh Kulaste. 

Adani Green said, "This award recognises AGEL’s outstanding contributions, commitments, and actions that have a positive impact on the environment. The organisation’s dynamic approach towards environment and sustainability can be seen in its robust governance structure, operations, and CSR initiatives. All operating sites of AGEL have been certified single-use plastic free."

"AGEL’s 100 per cent operating capacity has been certified Zero Waste to Landfill (ZWL) in FY23 by Intertek. AGEL is committed to achieving water neutrality for its 200 MW plants by FY25. It is a signatory to the India Business and Biodiversity Initiative and is committed to conducting business with ‘No Net Loss’ to biodiversity. The organisation is currently engaging with its value chain partners to further decarbonise the supply chain," the company said. 

Grow Care India is a non-profit organisation pledged to concede and honor marvelous performance in environment, occupational health and safety, human resources, and other issues like risk management, innovation ideas /projects, corporate ethics, and eco-innovation.

The NGO had invited nominations from companies and their units demonstrating the highest level of commitment and concern in environmental management, as well as organisations willing to enhance and improve their own performance.

The award was announced following the paper presented to an expert panel of jury members and the assessment was made based on the organisation's environmental commitment, risk management approach, and initiatives to achieve the targets, Adani green said.
