Adani Energy Solutions Limited (AESL) bagged the Global Sustainability Leadership Award 2023 under the ‘Best Overall Sustainable Performance’, granted by the World Sustainability Congress in Mauritius. AESL, a part of the Adani Group, is a private energy transmission and distribution company. The award acknowledged the firm’s commitment to sustainable practices and its contributions to a greener future as a major innovator in the power sector. 

The Global Sustainability Leadership Award is given annually to organisations that showcase outstanding leadership in sustainability. The award committee recognised AESL for its commitment to lowering environmental impact, dedication to promoting sustainable practices, and solutions in the energy sector. 

Notably, the World Sustainability Congress is a not-for-profit organisation, that advocates for sustainable leadership. It tries to bring together organisations, NGOs, public interest groups, and governmental bodies to enhance and educate sustainable business practices and solutions for a greener future. 

Elaborating about the award, Anil Sardana, managing director, AESL, noted, “We are honoured to receive this prestigious award. This recognition validates our efforts in driving sustainability and motivates us to continue our work towards a greener and more sustainable future.”

It noted that this award came as a testament to the firm’s unwavering commitment to sustainability and its regular efforts to enhance the green future. 

Notably, AESL has a cumulative transmission network of 19,800 ckm and 53,000 MVA transformation capacity, spread across 16 states in India. Under the distribution business, AESL serves over 12 million customers in the metropolitan Mumbai area and the industrial hub of Mundra SEZ. The company is also developing its smart metering business and working towards becoming the smart metering integrator in the country.
