Former Calcutta High Court judge, Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay, has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Gangopadhyay, who began his career as a Grade 'A' West Bengal Civil Services officer posted in Uttar Dinajpur district, resigned from the high court citing his plan to fight against corruption, the same reason he had given while quitting his job as an officer.
