Volkswagen Virtus Sedan Revealed — Features, Design & Interiors

The Virtus is a premium midsize sedan and will replace the Vento while being much more powerful plus more luxurious than that.

Volkswagen Virtus Sedan: Volkswagen has revealed its new sedan for India and it is called the Virtus as it was officially confirmed sometime back. Today we got to see the car for the first time. The Virtus is a premium midsize sedan and will replace the Vento while being much more powerful plus more luxurious than that.

The Virtus is similar to the Taigun in sharing the same platform as the MQB A0 IN. This platform means high localisation along with more competitive pricing plus being made/designed for India. The Virtus is the same and is the sedan that has come out of this platform. The Virtus is quite a big car in terms of its length at 4561mm plus also in terms of width while the design is pure Volkswagen with its sharp/elegant lines.

Volkswagen Virtus Sedan: Design

We like the way the headlamps are matched with the grille along with a chrome line. The bumper design is also more sharper than anything else Volkswagen has done. It has a proper sedan shape with large tail-lamps while the design is a lot more premium than the Vento that it replaces. The GT trim adds in black dual tone roof, red brake calipers and black alloys.

Volkswagen Virtus Sedan: Specification

The Virtus will debut with turbocharged petrol engines only being a 1.0l TSI and a 1.5l TSI. There would be automatic versions on both along with standard manual gearbox too. The Virtus has spacious interiors while the design of the cabin is similar to the Taigun with sharing the features list like the sunroof, ventilated leather seats, connected technology and more. The Virtus has just been revealed while the launch will take place. The Virtus will compete with its sibling the Skoda Slavia plus the Honda City and the Hyundai Verna. Being a premium sedan the Virtus aims to be a midsize sedan while the higher spec GT variants would be more sportier along with competing with D-segment sedans.
