The Guerrilla 450 from Royal Enfield can be called as a Himalayan 450 with better clothes as it shares many parts with it while it is their entrant into the premium roadster category. The basics include the '452cc Sherpa engine' which develops 40 PS at 8,000 rpm and 40 NM of peak torque at 5,500 rpm- same as the Himalayan.

However, the engine has been tuned differently along with the gearing to suit its character more. Other details are a 6-speed gearbox with assist and slip clutch, 17-inch front and rear tubeless tires and 1440 mm wheelbase, 43 mm telescopic front fork and linkage-type mono-shock at the rear and  Performance Mode/Eco Mode.

If we talk about features, the new Guerrilla 450 gets a stepped bench-seat, a 11 litre fuel tank, LED headlights, trafficators with integrated tail lamp, plus an upswept silencer. Top and mid variants get the new Tripper Dash with an RE app with features like Route-recording.

Lets talk variants and here you get Analogue, Dash and Flash, with six options. Analogue will have Smoke Silver and Playa Black. This variant does not have the TFT cluster while Playa Black features the TFT display.

Hence, this new bike is more expensive than some of its key rivals. This bike is lighter than the Himalayan but again heavier than rivals like the Speed 400 while it promises to be more nimble along with the design, which is typical roadster like.

Interestingly the tank size is smaller than the Himalayan but could suffice being used for city riding only. While competition is high, this is a bike for those who need a grown up Hunter or a more approachable Himalayan with a more accessible seat height.
