New MG ES5 To Replace ZS With A Radical Look

Being completely different from the ZS, the ES5 shares its platform with the MG4 while the interior has an all new look too with a larger touchscreen

Meet the sharply styled new ES5 from MG which will eventually replace the ZS also sold here. Unlike the last gen, this is an all new ZS while the hybrid version is different here. The ES5 is a new ground up EV which also looks different. Hence, it looks different and has a new grille less face which means the ZS replacement will not look anything similar to the model sold here.

The ES5 is also much longer and wider now while the front especially is the talking point with the split LED headlamps. The rear styling gets a connected look as well. Being completely different from the ZS, the ES5 shares its platform with the MG4 while the interior has an all new look too with a larger touchscreen.

New MG ES5 To Replace ZS With A Radical Look

The 62.2kWh is much bigger now and the range too is upwards of 500km now but it will continue to have a single electric motor. There would be other battery options too. It remains to be seen if the new ES5 will come to India but we think this is a suitable replacement for the ZS with its more range, features and a longer wheelbase.

Currently MG will bring in various models in the future including more models via the MG Select sales channel meant for more premium cars. If launched here, this new electric SUV would also be more expensive but competing with the new set of rivals which would be coming soon to this space. MG recently launched the Windsor in India and it also introduced a battery rental plan as well along with an outright purchase option too.
