Here in this article, we will talk about the touchscreen and some of the top new features of the new Baleno in comparison to the i20 and the Altroz from Tata Motors.
Let us see how these hatchbacks stack up in the features department. However, do note that the exact final features list of the new Baleno is not yet out.
Touchscreen
The new Baleno facelift comes with a brand new 9inch HD touchscreen which is new among all Maruti cars while also having the latest SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system.
The bigger touchscreen has a multiple tile interface with various functions displayed at once on the home screen.
The screen design looks premium for sure. The i20 however has a bigger touchscreen at 10.25-inch and that is a huge touchscreen being the biggest.
The i20 also has a multiple tile interface and has a premium look with a good touch response/premium design of the infotainment system. The Altroz meanwhile has a 7inch touchscreen and a simpler interface.
Other Highlights
The new Baleno will have a heads-up display that is unique and segment-first for its class along with other features like a 360-degree camera and more.
The new i20 has a sunroof which is a big highlight for a premium hatchback while it gets a standard rear camera but adds in an air purifier too.
The Altroz packs in decent features with a rearview camera but adds in express cooling function as a feature highlight.
In terms of technology, the Baleno facelift will get connected car technology and other new features including wireless smartphone connectivity and Alexa integration while the i20 also gets connected car tech along with the Altroz with smartphone connectivity.
If we talk about audio systems, the new Baleno facelift will come with an Arkamys audio system while the i20 has a Bose audio system along with the Altroz having a Harman audio system.
While talking about the instrument cluster the Baleno and Altroz have a part digital cluster vs the full digital cluster of the i20.
All cars feature cruise control, climate control and other premium features expected.
In safety terms, the Baleno is expected to have 6 airbags matching the i20 while the Altroz has dual airbags.
There is no doubt that the new Baleno is taking up the features battle with the i20, the current leader in terms of features while also giving stiff competition to the Altroz.
The Baleno has some segment-first features while the i20 also gets some segment unique features so the battle is even more interesting now with the customer winning in the end.
