New Delhi: Hyundai is all set to launch its new generation Tucson in India and this would be its flagship premium SUV positioned above the Alcazar. The new Tucson is a huge change and gets more premium along with sporting a more aggressive design language. However, the Tucson for India would be the longer wheelbase version and could be offered with a 7-seater layout since three-row SUVs are desired at this price point.
The longer wheelbase Tucson has a longer wheelbase at 2755mm which means more space along with a better second row. Back to the styling and the new Tucson has a more edgy styling with the parametric grille along with hidden LED DRLs integrated into the grille. Even the tail lamps are larger and wider along with the same styling theme.
It is also the first Hyundai model to get hidden rear wipers. The interior too is all-new with a 10.25inch digital cluster and a manin 10.25-inch touchscreen along with connected car tech, ventilated seats, 360-degree camera, and 64 color ambient lighting, and more. Safety-wise we could see the debut of ADAS features as well and we are surely hoping for a feature-packed offering since this is the flagship Hyundai! We will get to know the exact spec of the Tucson for the Indian market closer to launch and speaking of which, the launch most likely will happen in August of this year.
Worldwide, the Tucson gets a 1.6l turbo petrol while for India we could see a 2.0l petrol and both manual/automatic options. There would be a 2.0l diesel too while 4 wheel drive would also be optional. The new Hyundai Tucson will not have a shortage of rivals but its combination of design and features could set it apart.
