New 2022 Hyundai Venue Vs Kia Sonet Vs Tata Nexon

All three share some features like a sunroof, connected car tech, digital driver display, cruise control, and a premium audio system plus an air purifier.

With the launch of the new Hyundai Venue, there is once again a new choice for buyers in the subcompact SUV space and do remember that there is also a new Brezza from Maruti due soon. However, that is a comparison for another day as for now we will talk about the Venue being compared with the Kia Sonet and the Tata Nexon.

Which Is Bigger?

Both the Sonet and the Venue are longer with a length of 3,995 mm while the Nexon is just a bit shorter at 3,993 mm. In terms of width, the Nexon is much wider though at 1811 mm vs the Sonet at 1790 mm and the Venue being at 1770 mm. The Sonet and Venue have the same wheelbase at 2500 mm while the Nexon is at 2498 mm.

Which SUV Offers More Engine Options?

Both the Sonet and the Venue offer two petrol engines with a 1.0 l turbo petrol and an entry-level 1.2 l petrol. The Nexon meanwhile offers a 1.2 l turbo petrol only. The Hyundai and Kia both get a clutchless iMT gearbox with their turbo petrol while a 7-speed DCT is also available. The 1.2 l version gets a manual for both Venue and Sonet. The Nexon does get an AMT with its 1.2 l turbo petrol.

All three offer a diesel with the engine being of 1.5 l size but it is the Sonet that has a proper automatic option while the Nexon also gives an AMT option. The Venue is manual only.

Which SUV Offers More Features?

It is a tough fight between the three SUVs but the new Venue comes in with additional features like a powered driver's seat and a rear seat two-step recline along with soothing sounds for the interior.

All three share some features like a sunroof, connected car tech, digital driver display, cruise control and a premium audio system plus an air purifier. There are changes like the Sonet offering front and rear parking sensors, ventilated seats and the biggest touchscreen. The Nexon also now gives you ventilated seats but misses out on 6 airbags like the other two.

What Are The Prices?

The new Venue prices start at Rs 7.53 lakh and go on till Rs 12.57 lakh. The Sonet meanwhile is priced between Rs 7.15 lakh to Rs 13.69 lakh. The Nexon price range is between Rs 7.55 to 13.90 Lakh. The Venue is feature-packed and the Sonet continues to be one of the most well-equipped cars. Even the Nexon adds in with its safety rating and improved features list but AMT puts it at a disadvantage vs the other two.
