Mercedes-Maybach S-Class: Check Out This Luxurious Sedan
Mercedes-Maybach S-Class: The Maybach S-Class is positioned above the S-Class in India as the Maybach brand within the Mercedes-Benz family is for the ultra luxurious version.
Mercedes-Maybach S-Class: The S-Class is already quite luxurious but the new Maybach version adds even more luxury and technology to make it one of the most premium sedans that you can get in India. Here is a quick pictorial review of this new car. The Maybach S-Class is positioned above the S-Class in India as the Maybach brand within the Mercedes-Benz family is for the ultra luxurious version.
Difference Between Mercedes-Maybach S-Class and S-Class
The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is even longer than the S-Class by 18cm and that makes it a very long car with lots of presence. The Maybach S-Class can be identified by the chromed fin and the Mercedes-Maybach radiator grille at the front. The S680 4MATIC has a more exclusive two-tone paint finish with dividing line.
At the side you can see the flush fitting door handles and 19-inch wheels which are exclusive to the car. Another feature is that the LED ambient lighting in the exterior mirrors, projects the brand logo next to the opened front doors.
The extra length goes to the rear seat with even more space. Then you have the Executive seats with massage function even for the calf-rests and the neck/shoulder heating in the rear. Adaptive Rear Lighting (interior lights) is also available where adjusting the brightness, size plus the position of the light spot is there along with the light color-warm/cold too.
NVH has been made even better with the Maybach version adding absorbent foam in the area of the rear wheel arches. Like the rear door windows, the quarter lights in the C-pillars also get thicker laminated glass. There is also active road noise cancellation.
Mercedes-Maybach S-Class: Features
The long feature list of this luxury sedan includes electrically operated comfort rear doors while you can operate the rear doors from the driver's seat too. The coolest feature though is with the MBUX Interior Assistant in the rear, where the comfort doors can be closed by a gesture of the hand and stopped by extending an arm.
Infact the MBUX Interior Assist recognises eye direction, hand gestures, and the body language of the occupants for comfort vehicle operations. That is due to the 3D laser cameras in the roof liner where the head restraints are automatically adjusted with the rear seat occupants height.
Other features include digital lights, Mercedes Me Connect, Autonomous Driving Level 2 features including Evasive Steering Assist and Active Brake Assist with Cross-Traffic function. Audio lovers will like the 1,750W Burmester 4D sound system too.
The dashboard is similar but more luxurious with the design while the screens are very much there like the S-Class along with massage seats, panoramic sunroof, rear entertainment screens with tablet, adaptive air suspension, individual zones for climate control, 13 airbags and more.
Mercedes-Maybach S-Class: Specifications
The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class comes with two engine options: S 580 4MATIC with an eight cylinder engine with an integrated second-generation starter-alternator (ISG) and 48-volt onboard electrical system. There is an even more powerful S680 4MATIC with a V12 petrol.
Mercedes-Maybach S-Class: Price
The Maybach version sure does charge a premium over the S-Class being priced at INR 3.20 crores for the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class 680 and the ‘Made in India’ Maybach S-Class 580 4MATIC being priced at INR 2.50 crores (all India ex-showroom prices).
