2022 Maruti XL6 Launched. Check Price And Details
The new XL6 is a big update with the new look front-end getting a bigger grille with a large chrome bar in the middle much like the new Swift.
New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki is launching one new car after another and its latest launch is the facelifted XL6. The XL6 is based on the Ertiga but is a more rugged version with SUV-like styling. Now, Maruti has made it more premium with added features while the biggest change is a new 1.5l petrol engine with also a new automatic gearbox with paddle shifters. Maruti has also increased the safety quotient of the XL6. Prices start at Rs 11.29 lakh.
Styling updates
The new XL6 is a big update with the new look front-end getting a bigger grille with a large chrome bar in the middle much like the new Swift. The front bumper is also updated while SUV-like elements like a skid plate and cladding adds a sense of style. The XL6 tries to combine an SUV with an MPV. A bigger update is the addition of new wheels which are a size larger now with 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. The rear tail-lamps now also get LED tail-lamps with grey lens.
Interior and features updates
The old XL6 interior has been upgraded with a new look thanks to the latest 7inch Maruti touchscreen infotainment system. It is the same one fitted to the new Baleno at 7inch in size along with a new interface with a multi tile system. Other big upgrades include a new 360-degree camera system with many view angles plus inclusion of connected tech with features like remote access (via smart watch) plus 40 other connected car tech features. Then you have ventilated front seats with cooling function, cruise control, smartphone connectivity and more. In safety, there are now 6 airbags available on the top-end trim. The XL6 features captain seats in second row and comes with reclining third row seats. In safety terms there are 4 air bags, a tyre pressure monitoring system, ESP with Hill Hold Assist.
Engine and new automatic gearbox
The engine in the older XL6 is now replaced with a new 1.5-litre DualJet petrol engine which makes 104 bhp/ 137Nm. While standard is a 5-speed manual gearbox, the automatic is now a 6-speed torque converter with steering mounted paddle shifters on offer. This replaces the older 4-speed automatic.
Which means the fuel efficiency is also now better at 20.27 kmpl for the automatic and 20.57 km for manual. The XL6 is only available with a single petrol engine for now like the rest of the Maruti range. The engine is also a smart hybrid with a start/stop function.
Prices
The XL6 range is smaller than the Ertiga and is more premium with the fully loaded automatic, priced at Rs 14.5 lakh. The XL6 will compete with the new Ertiga and Kia Carens.
