Mahindra Elevates Turbo Power Accessibility With New XUV300 Variants

Beneath the hood, the turbo petrol variant of the XUV300 churns out an impressive 131bhp and delivers 230Nm of torque.

Mahindra has taken a significant step towards making turbo power more accessible, introducing new variants of the XUV300 that bring it within the reach of a wider audience. The XUV300 range now includes the XUV300 W2, starting at an affordable price point of Rs 7.99 Lakh. For those seeking a more spirited drive, the XUV300 W4 in Petrol, equipped with a TurboSport engine, commences at Rs 9.29 Lakh. This strategic move positions the XUV300 as one of the quickest SUVs available for less than Rs 10 lakh.

Beneath the hood, the turbo petrol variant of the XUV300 churns out an impressive 131bhp and delivers 230Nm of torque. Paired exclusively with a 6-speed manual transmission, this variant not only boasts power but also offers a dynamic driving experience. Previously, the XUV300 TurboSport was confined to higher-grade trims, but this update renders its exhilarating performance more affordable. While certain features from the W6 model might be omitted in the W4, Mahindra has confirmed that the popular sunroof feature has been retained.

The XUV300 stands out in the market due to its turbocharged prowess, a rarity in this price range for SUVs. Comparatively, the TurboSport variant offers a 21bhp boost over the standard XUV300's turbo engine, along with additional torque and an overboost function. The amalgamation of this potent engine with the W4 variant's attractive price tag makes it one of the most powerful offerings in the sub-Rs 10 lakh ex-showroom price segment. The vehicle's enhanced efficiency of 18.2 kmpl, when coupled with its TurboSport engine, positions it favourably against competitors.

Further enhancing the driving experience, the XUV300 introduces steering modes that adjust the steering weight, providing an innovative touch to the vehicle's dynamics. Although an automatic transmission option is not currently available, the XUV300 W4 TurboSport presents an enticing proposition that can contend with newer subcompact SUVs.

Amidst the unveiling of its electric vehicle sibling, the XUV300 retains its individuality despite sharing the nameplate. This unique offering maintains a distinct character with differing dimensions and features. While automatic transmission may not be on the table yet, the XUV300 W4 TurboSport compensates with its engaging driving experience and remarkable efficiency. With these developments, Mahindra continues to fortify the XUV300's position in the highly competitive subcompact SUV market.
