Mahindra XUV.e9 First Look Review: The XUV.e9 is actually bigger and longer than the XUV700 with dimensions which read a length of 4,790mm, a width of 1,905mm and 1,690mm in height.

Of all the SUVs unveiled by Mahindra electric yesterday, the ones to come first are the XUV.e9 and the XUV.e8. The XUV.e9 in particular is an important product since it is the SUV coupe version of the XUV700 of sorts while having no diesel/petrol version. The XUV.e9 exists only as an electric car while also being an interesting design. The design seems to be based loosely on the XUV Aero concept but that was based on the earlier XUV while this one is much more modern in line with the Mahindra electric design language.

The XUV.e9 is actually bigger and longer than the XUV700 with dimensions which read a length of 4,790mm, a width of 1,905mm and 1,690mm in height. The front is interesting with massive C-shaped headlamps while the grille area is blanked off with a closed area which is body coloured.

The surfacing is very smooth along with how nicely the headlamps are tucked in along with the DRLs while matching the top of the grille. The XUV.e range of SUVs carry the new Mahindra SUV logo but in a copper form and looks distinctive. The wheel arches are big and have massive wheels as well. The change is the side and the rear with the way the roof cuts and the large LED tail-lamps.

The blackened area below the rear bumper is also smoother along with also having good ground clearance for an EV. The XUV.e9 will use the INGLO EV platform which provides flexibility in terms of space on offer. The interior is different from the XUV too with three 12.3-inch displays including a massive digital instrument cluster display. The rest of the dashboard layout is similar to the XUV700 including the rotary knob below. The concept also has a two-spoke steering wheel too.

We expect an 80kWh battery pack with a single motor/rear-drive layout along with a dual motor/AWD layout as well including a power output in the region of near 400 bhp. You would be able to customize regenerative braking also on the XUV.e9 and other Mahindra electric SUVs too.

Expect premium features like V2L charging where you can use the car to charge other electrical appliances and other EVs while having ADAS tech along with Augmented display HUD among others. The XUV.e9 would be more expensive being placed above the XUV700 and its own XUV.e8 sibling while coming towards the end of 2024 or early 2025
