Mahindra Thar 5-Door India Launch: Premium Interiors, Sunroof And Rear Camera Display

The Thar 5-door will expand the Thar line-up and bring more buyers for this lifestyle SUV along with promising more practicality.

The Thar 5-door is the next big anticipated launch for Mahindra but it seems you will have to wait a bit and that is not a surprise since Mahindra currently sits on a massive order backlog for all of its SUVs including the Thar. Hence, expect the Thar 5-door to come around the middle or end of 2024 and not this year. However, it might just be worth the wait since it will be more than just a Thar with an extra set of doors. The Thar 5-door might get more premium interiors and also get a slightly different look as well to differentiate it from the 3-door version. The bigger changes are on the inside with a sunroof and also a rear camera display.

The sunroof would be a standard sunroof but something new to the Thar. There would be a more premium interior on offer with a plusher upholstery plus more features of course. Expect the Thar 5-door to also get multiple seating options including either a bench seat for the rear seat or individual seats.

There would be no changes for the engine options though and it will get a turbo petrol and a diesel with automatic as well as a manual gearbox. The Thar 5-door might get a 4x2 variant too just like the 3-door got recently.

The Thar 5-door will expand the Thar line-up and bring more buyers for this lifestyle SUV along with promising more practicality. The Thar 5-door will sit alongside the Scorpio N and other SUVs like the XUV700 in expanding the Mahindra SUV range. Mahindra currently has a huge pileup of orders and intends to clear those before launching new SUVs.
