Mahindra BE 6 And XEV 9e Pack 2 With 79Kwh: Is It The Most Value For Money Variant?

Mahindra seems to be pushing the 79kwh battery as those who booked the Pack 2 with the 59kwh battery pack can get an upgrade to switch to this 79 one

Mahindra has equipped the Pack 2 trim with the option of a larger 79kwh battery pack and previously it was only available with the Pack 3. Now, Mahindra is giving the option of a larger 79kwh battery pack and this could be the most value for money variant. The prices of the XEV 9e and the BE 6 with the pack 2 79kwh battery pack is 23.5 lakh for the BE 6 and Rs 26.5 lakh for the XEV 9e. That means it is more than Rs 3 lakh cheaper than the Pack 3 BE while it is a whopping Rs 4 lakh for the XEV 9e.

Mahindra seems to be pushing the 79kwh battery as those who booked the Pack 2 with the 59kwh battery pack can get an upgrade to switch to this 79 one. The 79kwh battery pack comes with the advantage of increased range with  682km for the BE 6 and  656km for the XEV 9e. Power is also more at 286hp over 231hp while torque is the same at 380Nm. These trims lower the access of the 79 version and yet still come with features like a glass roof, dual zone AC, 16 speaker audio system with Dolby Atmos, level 2 ADAS, 6 airbags, rear ac vents and more while missing some of the headline grabbing features.

Hence, with a tighter budget, the Pack 2 79 versions could be the most value for money XEV and BE variants around while this move expands the range. This enables the duo to compete with other EVs better in terms of price.
