Jeep Electric SUV To Rival Nexon In India?
This new SUV does not have a name yet and Jeep will reveal more details soon.
New Delhi: Jeep has just shown its first electric SUV and it is a compact SUV that is even smaller than its Renegade - an SUV which was rumoured to be launched in India.
The new compact SUV from Jeep would be its first all electric SUV and might come to India in the future as a rival to the MG ZS or the Tata Nexon EV.
This new SUV does not have a name yet and Jeep will reveal more details soon.
This new SUV promises a healthy range and design-wise is a typical Jeep but with compact looks. We can see hints of the Compass in the design while the front is more compact.
The concept has big wheels and hidden door handles at the rear with them placed to the window above for a clean look. The tail-lamps look nice and have a compact SUV kind of look but with enough Jeep influences.
This EV Jeep will be showcased by 2023 and if it comes to India it would be around 2024.
Will it come to India?
As we have said at the start, there is no clear indication but this new EV SUV would be placed below the Compass and rival the ZS/Nexon EV and hence in that way, it makes sense for India. Plus, in two years, the EV market will also develop and there would be more options in the EV space.
However, being a Jeep, we can expect 4x4 to be there as an option along with high range plus more EV related features. Jeep India currently has plans to launch two new SUVs, including the Meridian 7-seater three row SUV to rival the Fortuner along with the assembly of the bigger Grand Cherokee luxury SUV.
