Jeep Compass Diesel Automatic 4x2 Launched — Know Prices, Features, And More

Jeep has added a new variant which brings a more attractive positioning for the 4x2 trim as now it gets an automatic gearbox.

Jeep has added a new variant which brings a more attractive positioning for the 4x2 trim as now it gets an automatic gearbox. The new Compass 4x2 AT diesel brings the 9-speed automatic without the 4x4 configuration. Prices for the Jeep Compass 4x2 diesel automatic is Rs 23.99 lakh. The Compass range now starts from Rs 20.49 lakh.

The automatic variant now reduces the entry point for the auto option as it is now more accessible by roughly 20 per cent or by 6 lakh. There are also new design touches in terms of new wheels and an updated grille design across the range. Jeep says that with this updated variant lineup, the new Compass 4x2 AT now comes with features like Automatic Transmission, Panoramic Sunroof and Connectivity etc.

Jeep also says that the fuel efficiency of the 4x2 AT variant has been improved with an efficiency figure of 16.2 kmpl. Jeep has also tuned the gearing for the Compass diesel automatic and the suspension. As announced before the new Compass diesel automatic would form the bulk of the sales and brings the price lower for the automatic gearbox. Jeep currently only offers a diesel engine and no longer offers a petrol engine. The range begins with a diesel manual gearbox now.

 

Jeep also showed the Compass Black Shark edition which brings sporty touches to the design with an all-black look while it also gets blacked-out alloy wheels along with red accents on the inside with the all-black interior.

 

The Compass with an automatic now competes with a wider range of SUVs with its price positioning being made more attractive now.
