Honda Confirms Single-Plane Sunroof For Elevate SUV, Unveiling Set For June 6

Elevate SUV from Honda will be revealed on the 6th of June and will go on sale in the festive season.

Honda has officially announced that its upcoming Elevate SUV will feature a single-plane sunroof, according to a recent confirmation. The revelation was made through a teaser image that partially showcases the Honda Elevate, providing a glimpse of the sunroof. The eagerly awaited SUV is scheduled to be unveiled on June 6th and is set to hit the market during the festive season. Notably, the Honda Elevate's choice of a single-pane sunroof stands in contrast to its rivals, such as the Hyundai Creta and the Maruti Grand Vitara, which offer panoramic sunroofs.

The image also offers a glimpse of the Elevate's design, showcasing its straightforward SUV stance characterized by a tall roofline and a flat bonnet. While an upright stance is typically expected from Honda, the styling cues of the Elevate display a slight departure from convention.

In terms of dimensions, the image indicates that the Elevate measures over 4 meters in length, putting it in line with competitors like the Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos, both of which have a length of approximately 4.3 meters. Additional styling highlights include a large chrome grille and 17-inch alloy wheels. Based on the City platform, the Elevate is expected to initially offer a single petrol engine option—a 1.5-litre petrol unit—paired with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission. While a strong hybrid variant is anticipated, it might not be available at the time of launch. Presently, models like the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and the Toyota Hyryder offer strong hybrid powertrains.

Among the anticipated features in the Elevate are a rear camera, connected car technology, a lane watch camera system, and potentially even a powered handbrake. Honda's entry into the compact SUV segment with the Elevate holds significant importance, as it marks the automaker's first foray into this highly competitive market. The Elevate is expected to be a potential best-seller, capitalizing on the growing demand in the compact SUV segment.
