Honda Elevate CVT Fuel Efficiency Road Test Review

The Elevate CVT delivers 16.92kmpl and that is more than the 15.31kmpl for the manual version.

The Honda Elevate has started on the right foot with pretty good sales owing to its aggressive pricing. Prices start at Rs 11 lakh for the base spec model while the top-end CVT is Rs 16 lakh for the CVT. We drove the CVT for a few days to check out its efficiency. As we have also mentioned it in our first drive report, the Elevate CVT is more efficient than the manual gearbox version.

The manual Elevate gets a 6-speed unit. In terms of the official efficiency figures, the Elevate CVT delivers 16.92kmpl and that is more than the 15.31kmpl for the manual version. We had the CVT version and we mainly drove it around the city along with a highway run with a focus on the real world conditions related to commuting in traffic while also taking it for a long highway drive.Honda Elevate CVT Fuel Efficiency Road Test Review

We also drove the car with all of the features like the aircon. If we talk about the real world efficiency, we got 11 kmpl and it will hover around that figure between 10-11kmpl.

The engine is of course the same one as used on the City with its 121hp 1.5l petrol engine but the City is more efficient due to having an eco mode while the Elevate also has a more boxier shape. We would have wished for an eco mode but the efficiency of the 1.5 CVT is pretty decent when compared to some of its naturally aspirated rivals.

The engine performance with the CVT is well suited for stop-go traffic while it also gets paddle shifters. Hence, for those looking for a practical city based SUV with decent efficiency the CVT is better than the manual Elevate and worth the buy in terms of the convenience.
