Harley Davidson X440 Targets Royal Enfield With Aggressive Pricing
The design is a mix of retro and modern while it gets LED lighting plus a digital instrument cluster too.
The much awaited affordable Harley Davidson, called, X440, has been launched in India with an aggressive price-tag of Rs 2.29 lakh starting. The top-end variant comes in at Rs 2.69 lakh.
The design is a mix of retro and modern while it gets LED lighting plus a digital instrument cluster too. However, only the top-end version gets features such as Bluetooth and diamond cut alloy wheels.
If we talk about the engine then it is a 440cc single cylinder engine which displaces 27bhp and 38Nm of torque. Other details include a 6-speed gearbox, 43mm USD fork, dual-channel ABS and single disc brakes.
The ground clearance of the Harley X440 is also a reasonable 170mm which means that it is also quite practical for our roads. If we talk about the fuel tank then it is 13.5 litres.
This is the most affordable Harley Davidson aimed squarely at the likes of Royal Enfield Classic 350 while it also competes with others like the Honda H'ness CB350 plus the Yezdi Roadster and the Jawa 42.
You would be able to buy the X440 in three trims- Classic, Vivid and Pinnacle. If we talk about the design then a clear influence has been the Harley-Davidson XR1200 while it still packs the traditional Harley design cues but in a smaller package.
This bike will bring new buyers for the brand and expand its reach while also dipping its toes into the growing premium bike segment in India.
Bookings will start from Rs 5,000. If we talk about the prices then the new Harley is a bit more expensive than the equivalent Royal Enfield but it is still quite aggressive overall in terms of the Harley Davidson brand in itself.
