2021 BMW 5 Series Facelift India Review: Here's All You Need To Know About Updates In Looks & Features
The 2021 BMW 5 Series comes with cosmetic and features updates.
New Delhi: BMW has been on a launching spree in India and its latest product is the new 5 Series. It is a facelift and an update. The 5 Series has always been a big seller for BMW in India with it being the perfect sports luxury sedan of sorts. The changes to the new 5 Series and cosmetic along with feature updates.
You can see the new look from the front where it gets a bigger kidney grille which is bigger and wider. The larger grille meets the slimmer new headlamps which are Laser Lights on the M Sport trim. The rear is updated too with L-shaped tail-lamps with a dark surround. Even the tail-pipe is different with a trapezoidal shape. No doubt in the sportier M Sport trims the new 5 Series looks quite nice while this is a new metallic colour as well. In short, it is a facelift but one that makes a sporty car move further in that direction.
Inside as you would expect, quality is brilliant while new to the 5 Series is a bigger 12.3-inch screen. The instrument cluster is a new style that all BMW cars now have. The bigger new touch screen is easy to use along with the typical superb display. Features include sport seats for the M Sport, Nappa leather upholstery, four-zone climate control, glass roof, gesture control, and more. The gesture control is unique but fun to use while the system is responsive to your gestures.
Engine-wise you either get a pair of diesel with the 520d and 530d while the one to get is the 530i petrol with a four-cylinder engine developing 252hp and 350Nm. It does 0-100 km/h in 6.2 seconds while sipping fuel at a rather remarkable15.5 kmpl. That is more than some hatchbacks! Like the previous 5 series, the petrol engine gives it a sportier vibe and it is fast along with providing thrills seen on sports cars. If you enjoy driving the 5 Series is the one to buy and now the package is further updated which makes it a better value. It feels sportier than rivals while the rear seat offers decent space.
If you seek more space at the rear then the 6 Series GT might be the better BMW but if you do a mix of driving and being driven around then the 5 Series makes for an excellent choice.
