BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine Facelift Review — Check New Features
The Gran Limousine gets an added 110mm length to the wheelbase which means a lot more space on the inside over the standard 3 Series.
BMW has updated its 3 Series Gran Limousine with cosmetic changes and overhauled its interior.
The Gran Limousine is one of its most popular models on sale and this refresh is crucial in that aspect.
Some of the styling tweaks can be easily seen with exterior styling where the new 3 Series Gran Limousine gets a redesigned kidney grille and slimmer full LED headlamps.
The DRLs have an L shape while the grille now has double bars.
The Gran Limousine gets an added 110mm length to the wheelbase which means a lot more space on the inside over the standard 3 Series.
The rear styling gets an update as well with a restyled rear bumper while the M Sport styling kit further adds in a sporty touch along with 18-inch double spoke alloys too.
If the exterior is improved then the interior is the bigger highlight with the latest dashboard look of other BMWs including the i4.
It gets two screens being merged together with a 12.3-inch new digital instrument cluster and a huge 14.9-inch touchscreen. Both the digital instrument cluster and the touchscreen are much better to use with better graphics and a more premium look like the rest of the other BMWs. Some of the controls have been moved to the touchscreen but thankfully the climate control menu is permanently placed.
BMW has slimmed down the air vents and the three-zone climate control is standard while the gear selector is now updated. There are a lot of touch surfaces now with an iDrive controller, drive experience buttons and more. BMW also has added more equipment.
Another change is the NFC card key which the car now gets and that means you do not need to carry the physical key as your smartphone or watch is the key.
To drive, things stay the same and that's no problem because they did not need changing in the first place with the 330iL being our pick with its smooth four cylinder petrol engine and the excellent 8-speed automatic. Developing 258hp, it is a lovely engine which shows the sporty side which one expects from a BMW. However, the 3 Series Gran Limousine is a bit more softer than the standard 3 in terms of more body roll, which is expected.
The new interior and the sharp new looks makes the 3 Series Gran Limousine a much more desirable luxury car while also making it one of the best value buys in terms of being chauffeur driven and also being a self drive car.
