Hyundai Ioniq 5 And Tata Nexon EV Max, Two Best EVs Below Rs 50 Lakh

The EV Max has a larger battery pack at 40.5kwh while the range has also increased to 453km per charge.

EVs continue to increase in sales and their acceptance has become higher over the years which is also due to the larger availability of more models now. Earlier, the Indian car buyer hardly had any choice in the EV space but you do get a sizeable number of players while more are expected to enter in the coming years.

However, right now, these two EVs are the best buys below the Rs 50 lakh space with a good combination of price as well as performance plus features. Here is why.

Tata Nexon EV Max

Tata Motors got the first mover advantage by moving into a space which had no one else years back with the Nexon EV. That has paid off and currently Tata Motors has the biggest range of EVs along with the most affordable ones. The best EV that they have though remains to be the Nexon EV with the EV Max version being the most complete iteration of this electric compact SUV.

The EV Max has a larger battery pack at 40.5kwh while the range has also increased to 453km per charge. This version has been an important step for Tata Motors in providing more range while also getting more buyers thanks to the range figure being practical enough.

You can get around 280km per charge in real world conditions and that is enough for most inter city journeys while also being good enough for short road trips. The EV Max also brings in more performance and features which further makes it better value.
It offers lower running costs and for a conventional petrol compact SUV you get more performance with the EV powertrain.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 And Tata Nexon EV Max, Two Best EVs Below Rs 50 Lakh

There are different drive modes and regenerative braking while the overall experience is stronger while not at a huge price. This is India's largest selling EV and still the best one that Tata Motors makes.

Hyundai Ioniq 5

Hyundai entered the EV space with the Kona but the Ioniq 5 has been a game changer of sorts in the premium EV space. It is a born electric car hence, the platform is made for EVs only which means huge space on the inside and a flat floor but the unique design plus the features makes it stand out along with the performance.

The Ioniq 5 is locally assembled and that has brought the price down while making it way better in terms of value over CBU EVs.

At just under Rs 45 lakh, the Ioniq 5 looks like a concept inside out with the pixel design theme along with flush door handles plus a futuristic stance which includes 20inch aero wheels specially made for EVs.

You can move the centre console while the interior is made from sustainable materials we well. It can support superfast charging while also powering other devices.

The excellent ground clearance and the ride also means this EV works on our roads while the 72kWh battery pack has a lot of range on offer.

While the claimed range is 600km plus, you can get easily 400km plus and onto the 450km side which is more than many luxury EVs which cost twice as much as the Ioniq 5.

Hence, the Ioniq 5 looks futuristic while the range along with the different experience is what makes it a convincing EV to buy.
