2024 Nissan X Trail Vs Toyota Fortuner Features Comparison
Nissan used to sell one of the older versions of the X-Trail many years back. For India, the new generation X-Trail will come in a feature loaded CBU version
While not strictly being direct competition of sorts, we compared some of the features of the Toyota Fortuner, one of the most popular SUVs in its class vs the Nissan X-Trail which is also a premium three row SUV. The Fortuner is of course an SUV which needs no introduction while the X-Trail is an SUV which brings back an old name in India.
Nissan used to sell one of the older versions of the X-Trail many years back. For India, the new generation X-Trail will come in a feature loaded CBU version and here, you get a 12.3-inch infotainment system, digital customisable dials, a panoramic sunroof, an electric parking brake, powered seats, a wireless charger and more.
There is also a dual zone climate control, a Bose audio system, 360 degree camera plus possibly ADAS which could be offered. In comparison, the Fortuner has an 8inch touchscreen, connected car tech, cooled seats, JBL audio system, powered driver seat plus ambient lighting. Both of these SUVs have three row seating with a bench second row seat. That said, the Fortuner misses out on a sunroof, a larger touchscreen, ADAS or an electronic parking brake. The X-Trail will come with a 1.5l turbo petrol along with a standard CVT automatic while AWD could be on offer too. The Fortuner meanwhile comes with a 2.7l petrol with manual and automatic while the more popular diesel version has a 2.8l unit with automatic and manual plus a 4x4 option too.
The Fortuner is priced between Rs 33 lakh to Rs 51 lakh while the X-Trail could slot in between this with an estimated price of Rs 40 lakh. Hence, the X-Trail would be more of a premium family SUV with a focus on features than the more rugged Fortuner.
