The author is a Consultant in Infectious Diseases at P. D. Hinduja Hospital & Medical Research Centre, Mahim, Mumbai. He is also a faculty member for the National Accredited FNB Programme in Infectious Diseases. After completing his Internal Medicine residency in India, he undertook an International Training Fellowship in Infectious Diseases and General Medicine at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, UK, through the Royal College of Physicians.
