Dr. Ashwin Porwal is the Founder and Colorectal Surgeon at Healing Hands Clinic, established in Pune in 2008. With over 18 years of professional experience, he specialises in proctology, focusing on the treatment of piles, fistula, fissures, chronic constipation and rectal prolapse. He is known for pioneering minimally invasive and laser-based techniques, including DLPL (Distal Laser Proximal Ligation) for complex and recurrent fistulas. Dr. Porwal completed his MBBS from B.J. Medical College, Pune, followed by a DNB in General Surgery from Poona Hospital & Research Centre. He also pursued specialised training in proctology under renowned colorectal surgeon Dr. Antonio Longo in Austria, along with a Diploma in Laparoscopy from EITS-IRCAD, France. He is also actively involved in surgeon training and advancing proctology as a specialised field in India.
