Bengaluru: Businessman Loses 3.5 Crore After Investing In Cryptocurrency

Bengaluru businessman allegedly transferred Rs 3.5 crore in two different accounts as suggested by a crypto broker who later went incommunicado.

Bengaluru: A businessman from Bengaluru's JP Nagar allegedly  lost Rs 3.5 crore to a cyber froud who promised to help him invest and get profit in the cryptocurrency business.

According to TOI report, Gowtham's friend Ramesh TV had invested in in the business and made a profit. Seeing Ramesh profitting from cryptocurrency, Gowtham expressed in his interest in the investemnet. Ramesh  told him that he did not have enough knowledge of it and invested through a friend, Kunal Anoor Chandarana.

Gowtham contacted Chandarana and as suggested by him, transferred Rs 3.5 crore to two different bank accounts to purchase cryptocurrency on May 15.

However, Chandarana neither arranged for cryptocurrency nor returned the money. Gowtham reported the matter to South division CEN Crime police after Chandarana went untraceable.
