Andhra Pradesh Tourism Minister Roja To File Defamation Suit Against TDP's Satyanarayana Murthy
The minister RK Roja declared that she would sue Murthy for slander.
After the arrest of TDP leader B Satyanarayana Murthy, Andhra Pradesh Tourism Minister RK Roja on Tuesday said that she would file a defamation suit against Murthy for his derogatory remarks against her. During the press conference, RK Roja also broke down in tears on Tuesday. At the press conference, Roja as per PTI said, men like Murthy will not only abuse successful women but will also pose a threat to all girls who want to follow their dreams.
Roja said, "It won't work if you attempt to silence or suppress my voice. I will continue to support our chief minister and the women of our state. I will continue to highlight the failures of TDP."
Additionally, the minister declared that she would sue Murthy for slander.
After Murthy's statement, Vasireddy Padma, the chairwoman of the AP Women's Commission, requested action against Murthy in a letter to the DGP. Under several provisions of the IPC and the IT Act, the AP Mahila Commission filed a police case.
Meanwhile, Murthy was brought before a Guntur court, which granted him conditional bail, Guntur West Subdivision police officer Uma Maheshwar Reddy said.
Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy was arrested on Monday amid high drama at his residence in Anakapalli district for making derogatory remarks against Telangana CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Tourism Minister RK Roja.
TDP leaders condemned Murthy's arrest and asked why the police did not take any action against Roja or YSRCP leaders while they made derogatory remarks against Chandrababu Naidu's wife Nara Bhuvaneswari.
Earlier, Murthy called Roja "a woman of the street" and said that he has many pornographic videos of her. Further, he threatened to leak them and drive Roja and her husband to suicide if she did not refrain from commenting against former CM Chandrababu Naidu, according to a report on News18.
