Andhra Pradesh: CM YS Jagan Flags Off 163 Disha Patrolling Vehicles For The Safety Of Women

Hyderabad: The government has introduced 163 Disha patrol vehicles to provide security to women and children in Andhra Pradesh. Chief Minister YS Jagan on Wednesday flagged off 163 Disha patrol vehicles at the Assembly premises.
Speaking on this occasion, CM YS Jagan said that 1.16 crore women had downloaded the Disha app. There are already 900 two-wheelers in Disha police stations. In addition to these, the government is launching more than 3,000 emergency vehicles, said Jagan.
He said that the Andhra Pradesh government has launched patrolling to improve visible policing to curb crime at the field level to provide more robust security for women.
Disha vehicles are equipped with GPS tracking technology that allows the District Unit Control Room to keep a close eye on them. To reduce crime against women and children, these patrol vans conduct continuous patrols in crime-prone regions.

In the event of an accident, Jagan said 900 two-wheelers are already accessible inside the Disha police station's boundaries, and the staff will respond in 4-5 minutes in towns and 8-10 minutes in rural areas.
He said women police officers are on duty for various occasions, including celebrity meetings and provisions. These police personnel face many difficulties in the area of duty due to the unavailability of washrooms. With a particular focus on these, the government has designed 30 mobile restrooms and made 18 mobile restrooms available as part of the design of basic facilities for women police officers in field-level duties.
