US airstrikes kill 8 IS militants in Afghanistan

Kabul [Afghanistan], Dec 3 (ANI): At least eight militants belonging to the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group were killed in airstrikes conducted in the eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.

The Khaama Press quoted the local officials, as saying, that the airstrikes were carried out in the vicinity of Achin districts, targetting the militants in two separate locations.

According to the provincial government media office, the airstrikes were conducted by unmanned aerial vehicles of the United States forces.

The airstrikes were carried out in Peshogan and Abdul Khel areas, the statement said. It further said that several weapons and ammunition were also destroyed in the airstrikes.

No group has commented on the incident so far. (ANI)
