Sikh student 'dragged out' of UK bar for wearing turban

London [UK], Mar 12 (ANI): A 22-year-old Sikh student in the UK was recently allegedly dragged out of a bar because he was wearing a turban.

Amrik Singh, a law student at Nottingham Trent University, was told to leave Rush Late Bar in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, as he was wearing 'headgear' and this was not allowed, reports Metro.

Singh, who felt 'victimised' by the bouncer, recorded the whole incident where he can be heard asking the doorman the reason why he had to leave.

The door supervisor then replied 'that's just our policy'. When Singh said the turban was a religious requirement, he was told, "I didn't think you were allowed to come in a pub and drink anyway."

"I'm heartbroken. The reason why I was removed was because I refused to remove my turban," he wrote on Facebook - a post which has now been deleted.

"The bouncer insisted I take it off. I refused and was subsequently dragged away from my friends," he added.

Post the incident, Singh, who 'received thousands of supportive messages from people from all backgrounds and countries', took to social media to thank everyone for their 'love and support'.
