We are indebted to those who laid down their lives for our independence, says President Ram Nath Kovind on eve of I-Day

The newly elected President in his first address to the nation on eve of Independence also included the idea of New India. President Ram Nath Kovind said that the New India must include integral humanist component that is in our DNA and has defined our country and our civilization. "There is no place for poverty in New India," he added.
"It is responsibility of each one of us to promote sense of pride in paying taxes," President Ram Nath Kovind said.
Talking about Divyang brothers and sisters, he said that they required our special attention.
About GST, President Ram Nath Kovind expressed his satisfaction that people of the country had accepted it happily. President urged people to abide by the laws as well as a government can only implement and strengthen them. He added that government's Swachch Bharat campaign can only be successful if all the people keep the nation clean too.
