Bangladesh Coach Dismissed After Shocking Incident: Slaps Player During World Cup Match, Board Takes Immediate Action | Sports Live
Bangladesh Cricket Team's Head Coach Chandika Hathurusingha has been suspended for failing to adhere to disciplinary standards, initially for 48 hours before being immediately dismissed. Following this incident, Phil Simmons will take over as the interim head coach until the 2025 Champions Trophy. Hathurusingha has been embroiled in controversy after slapping a player during the ODI World Cup. Although he was appointed as Bangladesh's head coach recently, he resigned before the completion of his contract. Despite this incident, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) did not take any severe action against him until now. His contract was set to expire in February 2025, but his poor conduct ultimately led to his termination.
