Voting to elect new Assemblies in Madhya Pradesh would be held on November 28 and the counting of votes would take place on December 11. The state is currently ruled by the Bharatiya Janata Party with Shivraj Singh Chouhan as its Chief Minister. The term for the 230-member Madhya Pradesh Assembly expires on January 7, 2019. In the previous Madhya Pradesh election, the saffron party bagged 165 seats while the Congress won 58.
