PNB Fraud: LoUs worth Rs 20k cr were signed under NDA regime

New Delhi: The infamous PNB fraud involving Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi is not just limited to Rs 11,300 crore but has exceeded to the tune of over Rs 29,000 cr. The scam that began cementing in the UPA tenure in 2011 had gone on to spread its claws till 2017 under the NDA regime. ABP News has procured and accessed crucial documents which reveal that the number of LoUs signed during the NDA government were up to Rs 20,000 crore - the break-up of which is mentioned below.

Between 2011-2014

2011 - 50 LOU – Rs 750 cr
2012 - 100 LOU – Rs 2300 cr
2013 - 250 LOU – Rs 4000 cr
2014 - 125 LOU – Rs 2000 cr (Rs 9,050)

Between 2015-17

2015- 350 LOU – Rs 4200 cr
2016 - 500 LOU – Rs 7000 cr
2017 - 300 LOU – Rs 9500 cr (Rs 20,700 cr)
