Patriotism is this year's theme of Durga pooja; Nusrat Jahan visits pandal

Navratri - the nine-day long Hindu festival is celebrated to commemorate the triumph of good over evil. The festival which worships Maa Durga has begun today and will end on October 6 with grand celebration of Dussehra across the nation.   The nine manifestations of the Goddess Durga are worshipped during all these nine days. Each goddess has her governing planet, mantra, mount, and iconography.

Nusrat Jahan Ruhi is an Indian film actress who predominantly works in Bengali cinema. She joined active politics in 2019 and contested from Basirhat as a Trinamool Congress candidate. Jahan's screen debut was in Raj Chakraborty's Shotru. She then appeared in the film Khoka 420, under the banner Eskay Movies.
