Parties indulge in politics over New Motor Vehicle Act
The Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act, 2019, came into force from September 1. The new Act has brought about a considerable increase in the penalties prescribed in the old Act. For over speeding light vehicles will be fined between Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000 while medium weight vehicles will have to cough out Rs 2,000 to Rs 4,000. But state governments have been indulging in politics and are raising arguments of challans being too high. Watch the report
