Odisha braces for Fani, strongest cyclonic storm since 1999
Nearly 11.5 lakh people are being evacuated as a massive exodus was under way in coastal Odisha ahead of the landfall of cyclonic storm 'Fani', which is set to hit the coastal state's shores on Friday. People left their home and hearth, on foot and by vehicles, to escape the fury of cyclone 'Fani' in probably the largest evacuation ahead of a natural disaster in the country. Also, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting to review preparedness for the cyclonic storm, which is likely to affect Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal.
