Bangladesh, India’s neighboring country, is enduring its most challenging period with persistent violence and significant political and economic upheaval. The global focus remains on Bangladesh as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned and left the country, prompting the military to take control and enforce full martial law. Army Chief General Waker-uz-Zaman has announced the formation of an interim government, with Mohammad Yunus appointed as interim Prime Minister. On Monday, President Mohammad Shahabuddin confirmed that he had accepted Sheikh Hasina’s resignation and ordered the release of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, who had been under house arrest following multiple convictions. This development highlights the severity of the crisis and the urgent need for stability and effective governance in Bangladesh.
