Rahul Vs Anurag Thakur: Halwa Politics Between Congress And BJP Escalates To Caste Debate In Parliament | ABP News
During a speech in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday (July 30), BJP MP and former Union Minister Anurag Thakur questioned the caste of Congress leader and Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, without directly naming him. This query, related to the issue of caste census, sparked a significant uproar in the House. Rahul Gandhi termed Anurag Thakur's question as an insult but maintained that it would not deter him from advocating for a caste census. Amid the controversy, Congress leader Pawan Khera responded, stating, "What does he mean when he says Rahul Gandhi does not know his caste? If they want to know Rahul Gandhi's caste, it is 'martyrdom'." Khera warned that Thakur's comments could harm BJP's standing.
