Maharashtra Rains: Landslide in Konkan region, trains cancelled after debris fell on railway track
Trains on the Konkan Railway route were either cancelled or diverted after a massive landslide occured near Maharashtra Konkan region.
Train services on the Konkan Railway route came to a halt due to a landslide amid heavy rains in Raigad and Ratnagiri districts of Maharashtra on Sunday (July 14, 2024) evening. An official gave this information.
A Konkan Railway spokesperson said that the landslide occurred just outside a tunnel between Vinhere (Raigad) and Diwan Khavati (Ratnagiri) stations at around 5 pm. Speaking to news agency PTI, the official said that several trains were canceled due to landslide debris falling on the Konkan Railway line.
