As the tensions between India and China continue across the LAC on the Ladakh-Tibet border, the Indian Airforce is silently making preparations for all possible scenarios. In South Kashmir's Bijbehara, the national highway is being expanded and prepared to act as a possible landing strip for IAF aircrafts in case of an emergency.

Earlier, IAF has shown the capability to land its planes on civilian routes like Yamuna expressway and Lucknow expressway.
